This paper is intended for scientists and is somewhat technical. There is no advanced math, but there are some statistics and scientific concepts used. It can be appreciated by a nonscientist, but I recommend at least an undergraduate statistics class and some science or social science background. An introductory section goes over the basic principles of geomagnetism and magnetoreception. There are over 30 references, allowing for a number of opportunities for additional reading and study.
